As of 9:00 AM on Monday, August 4, 2025 attendees will no longer be able to make any changes in SCHED. This will allow Conference Admin to prepare for the conference and print schedules. You may still attend however since you are not able to sign up for a session it is advised that you attend sessions that are open.

This essential session will equip high school VA/US History teachers as they prepare for the full implementation of the 2023 Virginia Social Studies Standards in the 2025–2026 school year. Educators will dive into the key shifts in content—from revolution to civil rights to the modern era—and explore inquiry-based skills designed to deepen student understanding of our nation's past. Participants will examine updated pacing and assessment guidance, engage in high-impact instructional strategies, and collaborate to align their current practices with the new standards. Practical resources will be provided to help energize instruction and support historical thinking at every level.
