Science learning doesn’t stop when students leave the classroom, and when families are engaged in meaningful, accessible ways, it creates powerful opportunities for lasting impact. In this interactive session, participants will explore how to build bridges between classroom science instruction and family engagement that strengthens student understanding, curiosity, and confidence.
Through hands-on activities, real examples, and ready-to-use take-home tools, educators will learn how to integrate science content with engaging family-friendly strategies that align with the Virginia Science Standards of Learning (SOLs). Participants will walk away with easy-to-implement ideas for science nights, at-home exploration tools, and collaborative projects that promote science talk, literacy, and critical thinking beyond the school walls.
