How can school leaders and educators cultivate a culture where curiosity, adaptability, and inquiry thrive alongside academic excellence? At the Mathematics and Science Academy, this challenge emerged as we sought to shift our high-performing, outcome-focused students—natural “builders”—toward becoming resilient, reflective “discoverers.” This session shares how the Autonomous Learner Model guided our transformation and highlights the strategies we've implemented at the classroom, departmental, and whole-school levels. Attendees will gain practical tools and planning frameworks to embed discovery-based learning into their schools, empowering students with the communication, problem-solving, and inquiry skills they need for the future.
