Looking for a creative way to foster essential classroom skills in your PreK students—like turn-taking, listening to speakers, and making safe choices? Discover how our school launched a Community Helpers Visitor Program that brings support staff into the classroom as engaging, consistent “visitors.” Learn how we used the beloved role of the “PreK Mailman” to foster relationships, reinforce positive behaviors, and build a successful classroom community through fun, weekly visits. You’ll also explore how to use Adobe Firefly’s simple AI image generation tools to create vibrant, personalized skill badges that motivate and celebrate students as they grow. Storyboarding ancient civilizations engages students in visual storytelling, deepening their understanding of historical events, cultures, and contributions. This hands-on approach fosters creativity, sequencing skills, and content retention as well as integrates language arts and computer science skills. Participants will explore strategies for integrating storyboarding into social studies lessons, encouraging students to think critically and make meaningful connections across time periods. We will specifically show how this concept was integrated into our unit on Ancient Greece culminating in a final product where students demonstrated learning by painting on Saran Wrapped desks.
