Tuesday August 5, 2025 9:50am - 10:30am EDT
Transform students from passive viewers of content to engaged, active participants in their own learning. In Canva, you can use polls and quizzes to check for understanding as you present your slides and display the results in real-time. Canva whiteboards can be used to demonstrate/reflect on learning, plan group projects, brainstorm, and much more. You will experience these tools like a student and then learn how to create your own from scratch. And YES -- you can easily import your Google Slides/PowerPoints into Canva. Finally, browse/search the HUGE library of amazing Canva templates available to suit your needs.

Tuesday August 5, 2025 10:45am - 11:25am EDT
Ignite curiosity and deepen science learning by starting with hands-on exploration! In this interactive session, elementary teachers will experience the power of inquiry-first instruction—where students observe, question, and predict before concepts are formally introduced. Learn how to design meaningful experiences that connect to your science units, align with the VBCPS Future-Ready Profile, and build student excitement all at the same time. Leave with ready to go plans and stations that you could implement before the start of a science unit - just gather materials and go!
