As of 9:00 AM on Monday, August 4, 2025 attendees will no longer be able to make any changes in SCHED.  This will allow Conference Admin to prepare for the conference and print schedules.  You may still attend however since you are not able to sign up for a session it is advised that you attend sessions that are open.

This session will help educators learn the importance of vocabulary instruction and how strong vocabulary skills are directly tied to reading comprehension. This session will also help educators learn how this strategy will strengthen students' oral language comprehension skills (collaborative communicators), and help students become stronger writers. This session is closely aligned with the Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction modules classroom teachers were required to take, and also supports the new shades of meaning vocabulary SOLs.

This session will help staff understand what Accountable Talk is, why it's important, and how it will help students develop better communication skills to help them both academically and socially. It is intended for elementary teachers, and applicable to all subject areas.
